    Dr. Christon received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and developmental psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she specialized in pediatric psychology. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in clinical psychology with a focus on adolescent and young adult mental health, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in cardiovascular behavioral medicine clinical research. Dr. Christon is a licensed psychologist and is currently faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Bio-Behavioral Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her research focuses broadly on identifying factors leading to optimal health, adjustment, treatment, and quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions. Clinically, she specializes in assessment and therapeutic interventions across the lifespan and is a supervisor for the Behavioral Medicine rotation in the Behavioral Medicine Clinic.
