overview Dr. Mulugeta Gebregziabher is Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS). He is also a core investigator and co-leader of the Biostatistics Core with the VA Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) funded Center for Disease Prevention and Health Interventions for Diverse Populations. He got his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2006 and his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Addis Ababa University. He has over 150 peer reviewed publication in top-tier bio-medical journals such as Biometrics, Lancet, Stroke, Diabetes Care, Hypertension, Transplantation and the American Journal of Epidemiology. His research expertise is in longitudinal data analysis, multiple outcomes research, and analysis of very large datasets. He is also interested in global health with focus on NCDS such as stroke and Cardio-vascular disease (CVD) in Africa. He collaborates in several areas of clinical and health services research related to type 2 Diabetes, Stroke, CVD, lung cancer and HIV/AIDS. His work is funded by the NIH, VA and MUSC. He is committed to public and professional service. He is secretary of ED-REAP (501(c3)) and has been serving as President of Statistical Society of Ethiopians in North America and President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Statistical Association. He is also a member of the editorial board of the BMJ-Heart. He has ongoing collaborations with St Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College, Mekelle University, Aksum University and Adigrat University in Ethiopia and University of Ibadan in Nigeria.
