I was trained in physics and have worked in the field of MRI for over 30 years. My research is currently focused on developing advanced MRI methods for applications to neuroscience and neurology. Much of my work exploits the capability of MRI to assess brain tissue microstructure, which is relevant to a number of neuropathologies including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, and stroke. I also serve as the Director of the Center for Biomedical Imaging at MUSC.
